So now the problem is going to be solved by "moderate Muslims" via "the formulation and spread of an Islam that is modern, moderate, democratic, liberal, good-neighborly, humane, and respectful of women"?; I don't think so somehow.

Considering that "moderate" Muslims are also working toward the establishment of a 'global caliphate', albeit using non-violent means (e.g. Immigration and breeding), the only victory they are likely to be interested in is one of cultural and demographic dominance over the "The West".

Incidentally, could someone give me an example of any country on the planet, where Muslims are the majority, where the Muslims practice a version of Islam that is "modern, moderate, democratic, liberal, good-neighborly, humane, and respectful of women"?; no? Funny, I couldn't think of one either...
