That the Islamist ideology needs to change is nothing new. As long as imams and educators are teaching the "Infidels" and Islam superiority notions to their young, the world will continue to suffer from terrorism.

Moderate Muslims all over the world need to be empowered - encouraged to publicly challenge their leadership, create Muslim parlor groups to discuss ways to bring about the modernization of Islam and then join forces with atheists, Christians and Jews.
