Reader comment on item: How to End Terrorism:

Submitted by Yuval Brandstetter MD (Israel), Dec 5, 2006 at 12:03

I fear Professor Pipe's optimism regarding Moderate Islam subduing radical islam is entirely misplaced. Islam was an imperialistic Jihadi religion from day one, since this is the way it was conceived. Islam never lost its imperialist and Caliphate ambitions, but for a period of five hundred years was unable to exercise them due to relative powerlessness. Where it could, it did, see India and Malaysia and Indonesia, but in the European arena, Islam was held back. As soon as Islam was empowered, by Oil, the old habits came back, with a vengeance. All those modern thinkers did not invent a thing. They simply revived Muhammad in all of his bloody glory.

The way to win the war on terror has nothing to do with Moderate islam. Moderate islam is a useful concept for self-delusion, like the New Middle East dreamed up by Peres, and Democratic Iraq imagined by Bush. Moderate Islam is the mother of Radical islam, just like Umm-Jihad. It has everything to do with making Oil irrelevant. The Bush dynasty will be forever remembered as the regime where Oil should been Annuled, but instead, nourished Terror.

When Oil is dead, so will terrorism be extinguished, along with the Caliphate, world dominion, and Islam is the answer. When Oil is dead, no one will care a whit about the bleating of the Palestinians, or the Syrians, or Iraquis. They will be left to their own devices, and sink back to their 1823 levels of achievement.
