Changing the ideas

Reader comment on item: How to End Terrorism:

Submitted by Jonathan Usher (Canada), Dec 9, 2006 at 10:55

This is an excellent article but I believe that the West can also change the ideas of Islam by disagreeing and saying "no". We should not agree that Islam is a religion of peace, because now it is not. We should not agree that Sharia law is as good as western law, because it is not, and we should object to the bigotry in all Muslim countries. In other words, we should continually tell Muslims that our way of life is superior to that lived in Muslim countries and promoted by the Islamnic agenda. Fuirthermore we should tell them that our moral values are, in practice and theory, better than Islamic practices, even if some of society goes to excesses.

We can change the ideas of Muslims by being proud of the great society that we have developed. . It is not only up to Muslims to change their ideas.
