I couldn't agree more. The moderates are just sitting on the sidelines just as moderates did in Italy and Germany more than 60 years ago. We all know how that ended up. Is it that they are not students of history or were never really taught these lessons. WW II negatively affected the middle east and they should be aware of its causes.

Just as disturbing to me is that there are no religious leader in "Islam" to say 'stop the killing' , even if they are saying just among the various mullim sects in Iraq. Are they so hypnotized by the religious zeal that they can't see that they are killing brother muslims. That is like Episcoplians killing Lutherans just because of slightly different beliefs. I'M catholic but I don't want to kill a protestant or a buddhist because we believe different things. I'm glad that Pres Bush has addressed this with one of these high ranking gentlemen this week.
