I am somebody who has plenty of muslims in my personal live and I love them all very dearly and if I would know you I would love you too.

However after studying Islam very carefully, not from some scholars but from the source: quran, hadith, sirah, I regret to say that it is not very difficult to find where terrorists get their inspiration.

Please, as soon as you have some time, read surah at-tauba (9) which is one of the last surahs that was revealed after the "conquest" of Makkah so no part of it has been abrogated by later surahs. If you want the context, there is a chapter in the Sirah of Ibn Ishaq. If you do not have it, I can scan it and send it to you.

If you find one single ayah in this Surah 9 that has anything positive in it, please tell me.

Islamic scholars say that 9:5 and 9:29 are the most important ayahs that regulate the relation between on one hand the muslims and on the other hand the polytheists and the Jews/christians respectively. The polytheists have the choice between conversion and death, the Jews/Christians are luckier, they can choose between second class citizenship (= to shut up and do what their muslim masters say) or war.

Please read this Surah and reply to me.

Peace be with you,
Jan
