Growing anti-Muslim Sentiment in US

Reader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome (in North Carolina)

Submitted by William Robert Jack (United States), Mar 14, 2006 at 17:52

Thank you for writing this article. It is a wake up call that needs to be heard. More and more Americans are developing an anti Muslim sentiment. This out of a survival instinct more than anything else. The following letter was sent to the Washington Post on March 9,2006 by the writer.

The Washington Post article "Negative Perception Of Islam Increasing", reflects realism, and is a healthy sign that Americans are increasingly correctly waking up and identifying their real enemy--militant Islam and their Muslim sympathizers. There are now over an estimated six million Muslims in the US and there is no question in my mind that as a homeland security issue that it is from this Muslim population that comes the greatest internal risks to US society.

Who knows when some hot headed Muslim in the US will accept the call to jihad against the US after listening to one of al Zawari's or bin Laden's video messages broadcast on al Jazeera TV? This just happened on the North Carolina campus in the past several days when a radical sympathizing Muslim ran his car into a crowd of students to protest US policy--it's a real threat. We need to wake up and stop worrying about being "politically correct".
