Reader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome (in North Carolina)
in response to reader comment: No death cult has ever won in the long run

It is more than just Islamic cults that breed suicide. There are so called "Christian" based cults that also have a history of suicides. One is the Moonies that called for each member to sell a minimum of $100 worth of flowers in a day or they would not be allowed back into their "compound." Another was the Jim Jones People's Temple that bred mass suicide. But there are less suicides that don't make the news like the Jim Jones type. It is the occasional suicide that happens with certain religious organizations. One I found out recently was about a woman, good friend of a police officer who related the story, one who went to a certain church for help. She indeed was treated badly and committed suicide. It was the Vineyard church in Westerville Ohio. I had resigned my membership from them two days earlier because of discovering several negative aspects of how they treated people, including pastors who also left. (Harvest.net) So this is posted as a warning for anyone who is involved directly or indirectly with the Vineyard. GET OUT OF THERE!
