Talking about SUVs...

Reader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome (in North Carolina)

Submitted by van der Ley (Canada), Mar 17, 2006 at 17:08

The West's dependence on Middle-East oil is no small obstacle to our independence (yes, you read it right, independence) – and the Arab world knows that well, and has exploited it in favour of Islamic expansion (particularly into Europe). Had oil not been so needed in today's energy hungry western society, the "cult" called Islamism would not be the nuisance it is today: a bunch of fanatics who are content in living under backwards theocracies and in a constant state of apocalyptic bliss, while their rulers bask in oil money. ... My dearly elected politicos: want to spend well the money I pay on my taxes? So, please, finance more basic research on alternative forms of energy and invest in hydroelectric, nuclear, aeolic, and solar energy infrastructures. And people of America, leave your SUV home, for christsake!
