Well put. Thanks for the quote from Theodore Roosevelt. It's too bad it no longer applies. Today Teddy would be considered a racist. Just ask Tom Tancredo.

Unfortunately, the enemy of freedom is not just Islam. It is found in many organs of American society that have promoted multiculturalism as atonement for past sins and we, the American people, have allowed it to happen.

Political correctness has weakened our foundations, making it possible for radical Islam to destroy our society. At what other time in our history would "Death to America!" actually have been answered with "Why do they hate us?" What other country would allow this?

The polarization of our politics has created enemies where before there were opponents. Politics no longer stops at the water's edge if what happens beyond the water's edge will enhance someone's political fortunes. It's become perfectly acceptable to weaken America if if will help at the ballot box. Both Republicans and Democrats have played this game at different times.

Today we can say we have met the enemy and it is us.
