Yuval you suggest that we have much to fear..

Really I think everything needs to be taken in perspective. Maybe many people will die due to Islamic terrorism. But I doubt that it will ever reach the levels caused by car accidents or heart disease and lets face it, that hardly keeps us up at night worrying.

I might be killed by a terrorist tomorrow but I doubt it. More likely to die on my motorbike but then I hope that doesn't happen either.

In the scheme of things terrorism per se is not that huge a threat to the west or anyone else. Supposing, as Mark Berrato has suggested, the Islamists take the terror right to an American city and kill thousands with a dirty nuke. I think Mark has probably made a reasonable assessment in how the response would be. That might in fact be the beginning of the end of Islam as it is now practiced.. Now what is to be feared in that????
