in response to reader comment: The End Game

In politics, especially Middle-Eastern, the things are rarely the way they look. Of course mullahs are considering using nukes and other WMDs. No doubt in my mind that islamists of one breed or another will use them, sooner or later. But, rhetoric aside - they would not use it against Israel or USA. Here's why.

For the last twenty or so years Arabs kept terrorizing Israel by means of low-impact suicide bombers, victimizing mostly ordinary people. The only successful attempt on the Israeli establishment was 2001 murder of Israeli Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze'evi. All six connected to this assassination have been arrested by PA and re-captured by Israelis a couple of days ago. Hardly surprising to anyone - none of them resisted arrest to become a shahid.

But of course, none of islamists' leaders ever committed anything remotely dangerous, a promise of afterlife with perpetual virgins is for "foot soldiers", their leaders live quite comfortable just the way they are. The war with Israel is the war of attrition. Not quite so with the war on the West.

Flying plains into NY landmarks, bombing London subways and railroads in Spain - is a different kind of war, a war of intimidation and subjugation. 9/11 did not bring expected results - USA did not bend, bonds with Israel grew stronger and for an ordinary American Islam and Arabs are perceived as enemies - just look at the recent ports ordeal.

Europe is an entirely different story - intimidation works, Europeans are weak and grow weaker. More and more concessions are being made. So, as in any war, you strike where your enemy is most vulnerable. That was military tactic for thousands of years, and still is.

With every new act of terror Europe grows more receptive to Arabs' blackmail - withdraw troops from Iraq, export nuclear technology to Iran, blame Israel and Jews and so on. Intimidation works. A nuclear mushroom over Marseille will bring Eurabia to it's knees, new and massive concessions will be made, most likely - accepting sharia as law of the land for provinces with Muslim majority, new Islamic "pro-states" created in the heart of the Europe. Nuke Israel or USA - and mullahs in Tehran and whenever it came from will relocate closer to the Allah and Saudi oil production and export will be Halliburton-run operations.

Remember Pearl-Harbor (and Vichy).
