There is no moderate Muslim

Reader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome (in North Carolina)

... In my opinion, there is no moderate Muslim. Muslims are the only ones that find support for their violent actions in their Holy Book, the Quraan. I am just trying to make a point and I do not mean any disrespect to Islam. It is just a matter of time when moderate Muslims of today become violent Muslims tomorrow because the seeds are already implanted. What is the cure??

1. For all the Islamic inistutuion to get together and change and purify the teaching to remove fiction from truth. This is very unlikely to happen. The reason is they benefit from keeping the status quo because their existence depends on it. Another reason is that they support the oppressive governement by issuing edicits to give them legitamecy. Then what is the other solution.

2. For moderate Muslims to demand changes in the teachings of Islam. In other words, the correction should come from the people and they force the Sheikhs to look hard into the teachings of Islam.

3. For moderate Muslims to leave Islam all together and become whatever they want.

I hope I have not insulted any one; if I did I did not mean to.
