Islamism as mental disorder with historical roots

Reader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome (in North Carolina)

The society that islamists are at war with is secular, not Christian, yet the Islamist curiously phrases the conflict in terms of Christian vs. Muslim. Surely the attacks on London and New York were not attacks on "Christians." Rather, they were attacks on the commerical and military institutions of largely secular democratic states.

Yet the Islamist persists, pathologically in my view, to view reality as a conflict between Dar Al Harb (House of War) which constitutes Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, secularists, Muslim heretics, etc, and their Dar Al Islam (House of Peace) which constitutes all the muslim righteous who undoubtedly adhere to one form of Islam (Sunni Wahhabist, Shia) depending upon the particular brand of Islam which dominates in a particular locale or region. This condition is comparable to that of the serial rapist who sees his female victims as his abusive mother. It is a form of psychopathology rooted in some past historical trauma and exalted by muslim clerics and State tyrants. And this mentality is used to "seize power" and hold it. Its attributes are Leninist in their global dimensions and global aims of transformation.

That the muslim world is rife with communal and sectarian violence stemming from Muslim on Muslim violence, is a historical and statistical fact. Indeed, millions of muslims have been slaughtered in the most heinous ways (rape, decapitation, evisceration, nerve gas, etc.) than have been killed in wars fought against any secular or western, or "zionist" or "christian" entity.

Compounding all of this is the systematic repression of nearly half of the muslim population of the world, namely women, who are kept in a state of illteracy, child bearing, and domestic servitude. Hopefully there are more "Wafa Sultans" in the muslim community who will begin to emerge as voices of reason and rationality. If not, we are on a collision course with nasty form of Nazi like fascism that will reach its zenith in a military showdown with Iran.
