Sudden Jihad, a misnomer

Reader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome (in North Carolina)

Submitted by yuval brandstetter MD (Israel), Mar 15, 2006 at 15:11

Sudden Jihad Syndrome sounds like a medical term. A sudden uncontrolled spasm of irrational activity which is hard to explain in any logical manner. This is obviously a misnomer, in this case and all other cases.

This act was carried out by design, with foresight, with premeditation, and with the utmost ruthlessness which is not medical, but cultural. There is nothing sudden about Jihad, rather, it is a chronic condition.

Now think of forty million such individuals with the same culture, and add access to atomic weapons, means of delivery, led by a person imbued with the Chronic Jihad Syndrome. Does that scare you, just a little bit?
If it does, there is still time to do something about it, but not that much time.
