Christianity and Islam

Reader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome (in North Carolina)

Submitted by Richard Lion heart (United States), Mar 15, 2006 at 13:59

Through out the centuries, a lot of crimes were committed in the name of Christianity. However, all these crimes were commited against christian teachings not because of it. Islam on the other hand, urges its followers to conquer and kill as a means to reach allah. Christianity teaches self denial and sacrifice to reach God.

Islam is not only a set of beliefs, it's a political movement as well. Islam was spread by the sword, just the way any facistic ideology is spread. The non-muslim world is called the house of war, therefore muslims feel it's their duty to fight the west until it falls to islam. We should not have any illusion about the goals of islamist and their apologist. We have to fight islam the same way the past generation of christians did. If they had not fought islam, we would not have inherited the lands and religion we have today. So let's get our priorities straight and see islam for what it is.
