Spoken like a true Euro-socialist

First of all, bin-Laden, al-Zararwi, the 9-11 terrorists, and most operational level terrorists are middle class Muslims, the disproportionate number being educated in engineering and science. The people who fund raise and contribute to their operations and cause are middle-class and upper-middle-class, with many of them just flat out wealthy Arabs from Gulf states - oil rich states.
Their religion, not their economic "poverty," is the cause of terrorism.

Secondly, socialism has proven a failure to the human spirit. I want to better my conditions through hard work, creativity, imagination, will power, hard work. With that, and significant contributions to society, I deserve what rewards (materialistic and otherwise) I gain. What do socialist countries do to advance our world, since the the motivation to succeed is gone; we're equal no matter our efforts? Competition is a wonderful blessing that brings out the best in (most of) us.

Look at what the United States has accomplished in its short history: discoveries, inventions, business (and yes...employement opportunities and comfortable lives for those employees), science and technology, etc, etc. Their athletes are even dominate...because of competition and the idea that hard work pays off is ingrained in them. Their people even contribute more money to charity and causes - privately, not their tax dollars -than all other governments combined. (The UN doesn't even count their "private"contributions.) Knock the U.S. all you want, but it kicks the crap out of all the socialist countries in every endeavor because it's a capitalist country. It has advanced our world because of it.
