The expectation that when a person does not hold himself or herself accountable for their actions, others will hold them accountable for their actions is integral to living in Shalom as Jewish writings say, or living in polis as Aristotle expounded upon in "The Nicomachean Ethics".

We have to take a stand, otherwise we will be walking on more and more eggshells.
