Reader comment on item: Cartoons and Islamic Imperialism

Submitted by Dan (United States), Feb 7, 2006 at 11:36

By their demonstrations, muslims prove the truth of the cartoons: they are an emotionally charged violence prone society. And of course, thats the point of several of them. They have absolutely no sense of proportionality and they are hypocritical to the nth degree. They seek to interfere with our freedoms yet complain about western interference in their "internal" affairs. They seek dominance in all spheres especially the dissemination of ideas, especially if those ideas are repugnant to them. Finally, they behave like a bunch of spoiled children who they can't get their way.

Many people have given their lives over many years for the values and freedoms we hold dear. While I don't condone intentional offense, of which the muslims are Olympic level perpetrators, the west should not cave in regarding our freedoms. I am embarrassed at our governments response to the riots taking place. As someone else has said, we are all Danes now!
