Jeg Sta Med Danmark--This Is VERY Encouraging

Reader comment on item: Cartoons and Islamic Imperialism

Submitted by Mike Klein (United States), Feb 14, 2006 at 22:38

I too stand proudly with Denmark. And I find recent events very encouraging for those of us who love liberty and Western civilization. For many years, Israel, and to a lesser extent America, have been subjected to relentless attack from what passes for a Muslim "mainstream" and from their toadying green/red/pacifist support in Western Europe. Now that a genuinely progressive European country is bearing the full brunt of Islamo/Green/Red hostility, we have the opportunity to expose this whole skein of hostility as a challenge to our collective commitment to our ideals.

Regardless of what the Danish leadership does, we owe it to ourselves to keep the pressure up. A new front has been opened, and it's time both to take the pressure off the US and Israel--and to make Europeans realize that their freedoms--whether to read satirical cartoons, drink weiss bier or bathe naked on the Riviera--are very much at issue here.
