Reader comment on item: Cartoons and Islamic Imperialism

Submitted by David Roberts (Canada), Feb 13, 2006 at 12:07

Daniel Pipes has thrown cold water on all the inflamed rhetoric surrounding the cartoons that have almost caused a Third World War. The hypocrisy of governments kow-towing to the Muslim extremists is sickening. Political expediency dictates the reaction to this situation and the orchestrated outrage in the Middle East comes at a time when Iran and Syria needed a diversionary incident to focus world attention away from them. Maybe there should be demonstrations in the West against any cartoons of bad taste and racial bigotry - wait a minute, then it would be the Arab embassies that would be under seige - can't have that!!
