Cartoons and the comparisons

Mr Pipes,

I disagree with some of the points. First is the misleading comparison that you made between the Syrians showing the Rabbis as canibals and the cartoons of Muhammad... Your comparison lacks the face of it. No face of comparison is found in that example. The academic mind says the following:

1-Drawing the rabbis should be compared against drawing the muslim scholars of al azhar or bin laden, or bin lade. Both dipict modern figures representing religious interpretations of their sects.

2-drawing Muhamad should be compared to drawing Moses or Jahovah or Mary sleeping naked with the father of Jesus in a caricaturistic way. That is the equivalent of drawing Muhamad with a turban shaped as a bomb. So when you do that, you will see the vatican and and world reaction...

So please take my correction for consideration...

For Salman Rushdie Mr Pipes, I disagree with preventing the free speech in general. But I agree with a free speech for all. Let Salman speek, and let Fahman also speak. Why when one says that the Holocaust victimized 5 millions less 1 you get a six months jail!! Dr Irvin -british historian- says the holocaust victims are around 800.000 and was arrested and marginalized. That is by the way the arguments of Iranian and Arabic newspapers. I just thought to present you a different picture on the issue displayed in some news chanels programs..

In Iran, all major news papers started a championship like raid to find out the best cartoons on the holocaust..so is this a world of civilization or a world of intellectual cannibals, I do not know..

Thank you very much
