an unmasking

Reader comment on item: Cartoons and Islamic Imperialism

This latest crisis in the middle east dispels many myths that the world now must openly see. This naked underbelly is now plain to see, no denying it. A true unmasking of the myths takes place when the muslim countries directly confront western values. Some of these truths are:

1. Myth-Moderate muslims are the majority and have influence on governments and societies in muslim countries. Truth-Moderates are the minority, these societies are very primitive at heart. Intolerance and blind unquestioning belief are the norm.
2. Myth- Muslims are fair and value religion. Truth- Only their own religion above all others really matters. Hypocrisy abounds in these societies. They can dish it out but they can't take it.
3. Myth-The muslims want peace with the west not jihad. Truth- Jihad is the normal state of mind. Violent behavior is used to intimidate and threaten the west to fall in line or feel the wrath.
4. Myth-The governments are not responsible and are helpless to the fanatics. Truth- The governments are eager to encourage violent behavior against the west. A great distracting tactic to keep people from feeling anger over their own lousy circumstances. Ignorance for the masses is bliss for those in charge.
