Dear Kathy,
Dear Donvan,

What sources did you get your information from?
I've read Muhammad's Sira as you called it, which is His Life & Sayings. I couldn't find any call for violence.

Usually when someone wants to learn about history, he/she reads so many different books about the period in study & forms a point of view about that period. At least that's what I did. From very different sources I concluded that Islam is the religion of love. But I also noticed that people misinterpret the texts. Arabic is a very difficult language to understand. Some Arabic words need pages explain to the reader. Muhammad spoke Quraish Arabic, which was known as a very literal language. Quran, if not a Holy Book from Allah (God), is an Arabic masterpiece. To all those who read translated texts of Quran & Hadith & think that they call for violence, I say believe me they are not. It's not your fault that you got that, it's ours as Muslims. As I said before most Muslims learn their religion from Shaikhs, & those are the (wrongs) with & of Islam.

All what I'm asking you to do is not to be prejudice, & not to hate Islam. You can hate Muslims if you feel you have to, but it's better not to hate them. Muslims need guidance & help, & hate was never a way to help. My friends & I are trying to spread our understanding of Islam, but with all those extremist & your hate, we are helpless. We need our fellow Muslims to know the history of shaiks, & how that word became a part of the Islamic cullture. By that knowledge we begin to erase that need for revenge they are filled with, but the way you look at Islam & Muslims is always damaging. Add that to the extremsits increasing influence & tell me what chance do we have. There is always the hope that you may stop hating. Jesus told you so, and I'm asking you to. May be then we could convince Muslims that the only wrong with Islam is the ignorant shaiks.

Kathy, as a MAN who learned about most religions, I tell you Islam is the only religion that calls for love as the ultimate goal. All religions calls for love & peace, but that's not their ultimate goal. I know that this needs debating. May be in the next century, because I have to convince Muslims first.

Take Care, & let Jesus love guide your way to love all God's created human beings including Muslims.

Thank you all.
