Reader comment on item: Cartoons and Islamic Imperialism

While I'm not in agreement essentially with what you've proposed, I am glad, at least, that you have acknowledged current day Islam as a troubled and angry nest, "As my Grandma used to say, poke a hornet's nest and you'll get stung."

My Grandmother advocated putting a bit of vinegar on a bee sting to draw the stinger out. And she comforted whomever was stung with the reminder that the poor bee died after stinging it's victim. If Islam wants to thrive, its adherents need to make themselves so busy tending to their own nest that they will be able to ignore a few pokes.

Islamists will not do well if they go around stinging everyone who pokes at them: The cycle will continue .. They'll sting and we will apply the vinegar etc.
