in response to reader comment: I would hope for separation...but it is highly improbable and unlikely

1. Muhammad and his followers express rage when "insulted", (current cartoon issue).

Jesus, on the other hand, suffered huge abuse aand insults, even prophesied that He would be killed. Now, knowing this, He willingly went to the cross to take the sin of the world upon Himself. He never retaliated. He also told His followers that they too, should expect similiar treatment and abuse. Some of them would also die for following Him. Instead of telling them to seek revenge by killing their abusers, He told His followers to love them and pray for them.

2 Muhammad instructed his followers to kill those who would not accept Islam.

"Fight and slay the Unbelievers wherever ye find them. Seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war."
Qur'an, Sura 9:5

Jesus urged people to accept His teaching, knowing, that many would not.

3. Muhammad instructed his followers to kill any who left Islam, (apostates).

Jesus promised eternal life for His true followers and gave His Holy Spirit to seal their eternity. But, He allowed freedom of choice!

He knew that many, claiming faith in Him, would not seriously follow Him and then would forsake Him and/or His teachings. (There have been many examples of these through the centuries; Crusaders of the middle ages, the German "Christians" allowing the Holocaust, modern day "Christians" practicing immorality etc.). He left these fraudulent "Christians" to be dealt with in God's final judgment.

Thankfully, each can look at the facts, and choose who he/she will seriously follow!

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life". Jesus' words found in John 3:16

Again, He said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me." John 14:6
