Consider these two scenarios :

1 - The Bible is the WORD of GOD
2 - The Bible is a complete FRAUD (the whole shebang was invented)

Scenario 1 : The Koran repeats most of the stories of the Bible (the creation story, Abraham, Moses, Mount Sinai etc...) supposedly "confirming" the Bible. If Allah is the same god as that of the Bible, why did he need to confirm anything ? Why did he change His name from Yahweh to Allah (suddenly after 2500 years) ?? Why are most of the stories in the Koran, those taken from the Bible, so ridiculously distorted ?? Did Yahweh suddenly change his mind about those stories ? Did He lie to the Jews and Christians when He first gave them that Bible ? Etc...
No, under this scenario the Almighty Yahweh cannot be this flaky. And if He IS the Almighty, then Allah (and his messenger) is a scam

Scenario 2 : If the Bible is a scam, well then of course so is the Koran

Conclusion : muslems lose both ways.

If they only read all their peripheral scriptures [instead of the Koran, which is a collection of disparate verses with no context, often with no transition from one to the other and on the whole incomprehensible], if they read those scriptures rather than listening to those angry finger pointing hysterical imams, then may be they would jettison islam in droves.
