"Are people who fear Islam on some level irrational (Islamophobic)?" That is a tough question.

I think we all fear "the beheadings, blowing-up of buses, subways, trains and now the violent reaction to the cartoons". Therefore, the simple answer to your question is "no". My previous message said, more or less, that the violent reaction to the cartoons will cause more fear.

Therefore, I wasn't blaming people who fear terrorism, and especially Islamic terrorism. I was blaming the perpetrators of this violent reaction to the cartoons as the primary responsible for this fear. No, I wasn't saying that people were irrational Islamophobes, just because they fear terrorism. I was just agreeing with Daniel Pipes statement that "cartoon protests harm Muslims". I don't always agree with Daniel Pipes. But, as far as the Danish cartoons are concerned, I agree 100% with Daniel Pipes.
