Reader comment on item: How the Cartoon Protests Harm Muslims [by Leading to a Separation of Civilizations]

A clean separation would be in the best interests of all concerned. Whether we could continue to do business or not will be an important question however had we the wisdom to recognize what the 1973 oil "shock" was all about, perhaps we could have been well on our way to disengagehement. Instead, 30+ years were squandered. When dealing w an infectious disease, especially early on, the best method of containment is quarantine.

Perhaps its time to stop being politically correct and accept that certain ideologies do not mesh w our liberal democracy and accept the fact that islamic ideology is at its core militaristic and hegemonic; let them be quarantined in their own geography. There is no place in the west for these savages who openly declare their jihad to destroy and conquer the west. Let them stew in their own juices and let us stop using fossel fuels purchased from them. Yes, it will be painful but then so is withdrawal from narcotics. At the end of the ordeal, our future generations will be better off and the security of our country will be strenghened.
