Love-Hate Relationship and Muslim Double Standards

Reader comment on item: How the Cartoon Protests Harm Muslims [by Leading to a Separation of Civilizations]

Submitted by Dr. Jamshid Ibrahim (United States), Feb 18, 2006 at 04:30

Due to political or religious reasons Muslims have never stopped criticising the Christian West. However, they cannot survive or enjoy the luxury of life without acquiring the necessary skills, services and goods including food and luxury goods from the West. Consider the following:

1. There is no modern Muslim science. Complete dependence on the West by the virtue of oil otherwise back to Middle Ages. Even the old oriental science and medicine go back to old Indian, Persian or Greek advances

2. Western medicine: Either they send their patients to Europe or the US for treatment or send their students to these countries to learn from their universities. No Muslim student or patient is sent to China or Korea. Very few are sent to Russia.

3. When they flee their dictatorships they don't go to Russia or China but to the US or Europe. Most of them are found in "infidel" countries enjoying their democracy, get married to Christians, and concoct plots against the West from these countries.

4. They complain about European far-right parties but are most fanatic, patriotic and nationalists in their countries. They never stop glorifying their past because their present is so disappointing. Minorities are suppressed most brutally. Guest workers from poor countries like Pakistan or the Philippines are treated like rubbish.

5. They abhor Christian missionary work but never stop doing missionary work to convert desperate people to Islam. On their TV channels (BTW a product from the West) they boast about how many people have been converted to Islam so far.

6. When referring to the cartoons they say you are insulting all Muslims who are more than a billion. However, there are the following types of Muslims:
- Muslims who don't believe in all religions including Islam.
- Muslim who don't give a damn about Islam. They are only Muslims by tradition because they have been born to such families but are hurt when you attack Islam. They feel guilty.
- Muslims who only give lip service but enjoy Western life and drinking alcoholic drinks like whisky. They don't practise Islam.
- Muslims who practise Islam but are tolerant.
- Muslim who are fanatic and use violence

7. Accuse the US of only minding its interests but they have never stopped advancing their interests in whatever they do. There are no contributions to charities but they are very generous with spending money to satisfy their needs.

Such behaviour calls for psychiatric help.
