Reader comment on item: How the Cartoon Protests Harm Muslims [by Leading to a Separation of Civilizations]
in response to reader comment: GOOD EXCUSE

Amir .... a miracle happened. You and I both are in agreement when you imply that Moslems immigrate to the free world and acquire legal citizenship. However, I contend that this is a tactic to further an Islamic agenda that dictates global submission to Allah.

I speculate that Moslems are immigrating from Islamic regimes for one reason and one reason only and ..... it is not to assimilate. It is to further their agenda of global submission to Allah. I believe that it is highly unlikely that the Islamic leaders would permit any of their followers to unconditionally immigrate to the "Great Satan" or the lands of "infidels" if they were not being used as a tool to justify the means.. The strategy is to use the democratic political process to their advantage ....... special privileges in exchange for their collective vote..

Canadian PM Stephen Harper stated on Tuesday ...... "I commend the Canadian Muslim community for voicing its opinion peacefully, respectfully and democratically."

Amir, Christian and Jews are offended daily through literature, the media, the arts, the educational system, yet our respective communities are EXPECTED to either be tolerant or respond peacefully. Can you just image if Christians or Jews collectively threatened the life of a director, an artist, an author, a university instructor or an editor because his freedom of expression offended their faith? Hey, this intimidation would not be tolerated by the "powers that be". There would be legal consequences, and rightly so.

However, Amin, a double standard exists in regards to the Islamic faith. There tends to be an understanding by our elected leaders in the free world that citizens of the Islamic faith are somehow entitled to special privileges and .... they should not be offended through our democratic freedom of expression and ..... when they are ...... they are commended by our leaders when they respond in a manner that is an EXPECTATION of all other citizens.

There is an art display at a gallery in the States where a crucifix is placed upside down in urine. Moslems openly refer to Jews as pigs, monkeys, snakes, rats, spiders in their mosques, media, schools, universities, conferences, literature, loud speakers, etc. Have the "powers that be" ever thanked Jews or Christians for showing restraint? Have the "powers that be" ever challenged the artist or the followers of Islam for these offending expressions?

Janet.
