David Irving is Apples and Oranges!

Reader comment on item: How the Cartoon Protests Harm Muslims [by Leading to a Separation of Civilizations]

Submitted by Kevin M (United States), Feb 21, 2006 at 10:43

There is no basis for comparing the situation with David Irving and the Mohammed cartoons. The Holocaust is an established, certified, case-proven historical fact and Muslims themselves have been depicting Mohammed for centuries. Just how is a lunatic like Irving comparable to freedom of speech? There isn't a word in the Koran that is a proven historical fact (and I would also allow that the Bible is no less subject to criticism). So all this whining about David Irving and freedom of speech is precisely that: a lot of whining.

Let's stay on topic, folks.
