Obeid: I dont blame you for your sanitized knowledge of islam quran and islamic history. Most muslims believe what you believe and I was the same way in my younger and foolish days. I suggest you read up on Bukhari, muslim, and the original siras by Hisham and Tabari to understand quran's context and chronology.

The first Jizya was implemented on jews of Khyber after it was captured by the prophet. It was exhorbitant, that is 50% of total yield.

Historically jizya was high and was there for income as well as pressuring jews anf christians to convert. All others were never given any choice than either islam or death (except in India). That is quranic rule practised by prophet , islamic invaders and kings after him.( Ask any honest scholar of quran and sunna).

I know you will not take my word. So I suggest you study your scriptures. Dont read modern day apologists or go on muslim websites , they lie and sanitize everythimg. Read original scriptures or read ex-muslims like Anwar Shaikh, Ali Dashti, and Ibn Warraq, they will be the most truthful. Or go to ex-muslim websites like faithfreedom.org, islam-watch.org, apostatesofislam.com,huma.org,vinnomot.com etc. They have no agenda except to tell it like it is.
To keep track of the islamic jihad go on thereligionofpeace.com and jihadwatch.org
