Mr Pipe's concluding paragraph looks too optimistic, in fact, it is wishful thinking. The present-day conditions in the Middle East (and the Islamic world in general) as well as the projections as to most likely developments in that part of the globe in connection with the mess in Iraq,a nuclear Iran, Shiite control of The Gulf, Hamas in Palestine, rising anti-Western opinion, oil-related economic-strategic problems etc. indicate to more troubled times. I fully agree with the analysis of Mr J. Greg Mack.
