Reader comment on item: How the Cartoon Protests Harm Muslims [by Leading to a Separation of Civilizations]

Submitted by Sully (United States), Feb 15, 2006 at 15:19

Nothing I've read by so called moderate Muslims has had nearly as much impact as the struggle I made through the Koran in an effort to understand.

Folks who believe in the lessons in that book are not compatible with Western values. They and their successors will for a very long time be a danger to those they consider infidels, regardless of how peaceful they may temporarily be or appear.

Allowing them to immigrate to our countries is preposterous. Educating them in the sciences in our universities is insane. Trading in high tech goods and services with them is madness. Further, we should wean ourselves from oil as soon as possible regardless of economic cost so as to at least partially reduce the cash flow going to them.

We should separate ourselves from them as thoroughly as we separate ourselves from Tigers and Lions and Bears in our zoos.
