Claire,

you say "Their systems of indoctrination use fear, shame, and intimidation and probably hypnosis"

First - hypnosis is correct

Second - Fear from God is yes, we fear the punishment of God, We are told if you do good you will have not to fear God, but God will love you and you will have paradise. This is according to a set of laws and rules that we have to abide to to win the love of God and to win paradise.

Looking at those laws and rules - you will find them beautiful and should be followed by all

1) Believe in God and all Prophets

2) Prayer to God

3) Alms-Giving

4) Fast

5) Hajj

6) Love thy neighbors

7) Treat people like you want them to treat you

8) No adultery

9) No stealing

10) No killing, who kill one innocent as if he killed the whole humanity

11) Charity to the poor

12) Forgive in power

13) Patience

14) Obey your parents

15) Be merciful to the young

16) Be kind to animals

17) The list is endless

What is wrong with these teachings

Third – There are many proofs that God exists

1) Who is controlling the universe from collapse or planets hitting each other.

2) Who made the human body in perfect shape and function

3) There is no way such things happened by accident

Fourth – Many prophets in the past proclaimed the existence of God. And had earthly miracles in their times.

1) Abraham – the father of the prophets and the friend of God

2) Ishmael – A great nation unto them

3) Issac

4) Jacob – The father of the Israelites

5) Moses – the father of the Jews

6) Aaron

7) Solomon – and the Saba Kingdom

8) David

9) Job

10) Jonah

11) Jesus

12) Mohammad

13) And many other mentioned in the torah, bible and Quran

Fifth – The Quran is the last existing and still the living miracle of God

1) Miracles in science

2) Miracles in geology

3) Miracles in numbers

4) Miracles in language

5) Miracles in atmosphere and weather

6) Miracle in universe and astrology

7) Miracles in medicine

8) Miracles in nature

Recently they discovered how the Pyramids were built, no one noticed or understood what the Quran said about the Pharaohs and the building of the Pyramids until this discovery was found – they found that it is written in the Quran how the Pyramids were built

As you see Islam is the complete and last doctrine that should be followed by all, for it has values not available in other books or religions.

It is not people who want to control us- Mohammad did not want to control anyone – He comes from a Noble tribe and Noble family – his fathers, grandfathers and relatives had high status in their tribe, they were chieftains

They offered him to stop preaching the new religion (Islam) and they will give him power, money, women, He simply refused and said I will not leave what is revealed to me even if they put the son on my right hand and the moon on my left hand until God word prevails in all land or I die preaching God's word.

And he suffered and his followers enormous sufferings.

Once you learn the true Islam with open eyes and hearts, you don't want to leave it.
