yeh...Reader comment on item: Churches in Saudi Arabia? Submitted by B. Williame (Belgium), Apr 16, 2008 at 05:31 "Submitted by Houssam (France), Apr 11, 2008 at 17:45 You say religious tolerance is part of chritianity. Are you sure of what you are saying? have you studied the history of the church? How about the inquisition? how about burning scientists which opposed the views of the church. How about the crusades and the mass killings of muslims in jerusalem. I am not inventing anything here. Just read history." True i read it, I know it all too well... Christianity is all for tolerance. Katholics where at a certain point misleaded by there human leaders of faith(popes, etc...) But also understand this. Katholics are but one of the many branches Christianity has. For example, did Mormons have inquisition? If only suffis or so als Muslims be the violent branch of Islam you could say they are in the medieval era compared to Catholics... but it seems suffies, suniiss, etc... all are, where are the mormons of the Islam faith? "Please remember that when muslims entered jerusalem, not a drop of blood was shed. Christians were able to live peacefully under islamic rule. When you refer dhimmis, you make it sound as if it was torture and killing. Can you provide a proof of that? according to what I have read about the history of muslims in the wholy lands, it was all about respect for christians and jews. True they were living under shariah law. But it was all about justice and being dhimmis doesn't mean they were subject to any harrasment. It is well documented that when a chritian copt was beaten by the son of one of the muslims rulers in Egypt, that chritians filed a complained to the general muslim ruler who ordered that the christian father beat the muslim ruler in egypt. This is well documented in islamic history and you can search for it if yuo don't believe me. This is what islam is all about: Justice for all." Ok, nice, again history is written by it's victors... youre on the Islam side, no wonder they say they did all good and Catholics side will say they where the ones doing all good. Each side pointing to the atrocities done by the other. But for the sake of argument, give me a link so I can find this historical event you refer to. Because I'm willing to search for it. Putting things of the past behind me for a second and poiting to the latest events. What Catholic suicider did attack Muslims latelly? Perhaps this is also hidden from us and not from you? If there is none, guess the current issue is then how to get medieval thinking out of Islam followers.
