Reader comment on item: Churches in Saudi Arabia?
in response to reader comment: Dear Daniel Pipes

The words of Anwar Ashiqi:

"It would be possible to launch official negotiations to construct a church in Saudi Arabia only after the Pope and all the Christian churches recognise the prophet Mohammed. If they don't recognise him as a prophet, how can we have a church in the Saudi kingdom"?

Now here is the irony of his remarks. Muslims build Mosques in Europe, in the Western World and in countries through out the world. They do so, even though they (Muslims), do not accept that Jesus Christ is the son of GOD, or that Christianity is a real religion, which of course, Christians do. Anwar Ashiqi's remarks are very clear. The irony is that we allow the building of Mosques even though we do not believe in Allah or Muhammad, but Muslim nations demand that we recognise Muhammad as a prophet if we wish to build a church in their lands. If we recognise Muhammad as a prophet, then we must recognise Islam as a true religion. It's a one way street; Muslims do not accept Jesus as the Son of God, but we must accept Muhammad as a "Prophet", and thus the irony in Dr. Pipes' remarks.
