Question of legitimacy

Reader comment on item: Churches in Saudi Arabia?
in response to reader comment: The Pope - wake up - Crusaders

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Apr 21, 2008 at 21:04

To Samer:

I'm not sure what you are trying to say here. I am not Catholic, therefore I do not believe that the Pope has any power between man and God--there is nothing remotely Biblical about this---- however I respect him as a human being. The Catholics, although great in numbers, are not on a crusade as far as I can see. We will all have to answer to God when we meet Him, regardless of our differing faiths, and it's our relationship to Him that matters, not what some mere human being such as the Pope says. The Crusades were led by people who thought they were Christians, but they weren't, because Jesus Christ never preached to kill people if they didn't believe.
