Reader comment on item: Churches in Saudi Arabia?
in response to reader comment: Hadith is different than the Quran

I've only read parts of the hadith, but all scholars can do is piece together texts, examine language for meaning, etc. I know it's your cultural doctrine and it has meaning to you, but you have to realize that I don't even consider Mohammed a unique prophet--I see him as a clever practitioner of indoctrination and mind control and probably someone with some valid ideas for his time and situation, given his motives.

I know many people deeply believe what they've been indoctrinated into. I'm more interested in the fact of indoctrination and how it operates on human brain physiology than on the content of the indoctrination. Why are people so open to control by people like Moses, Paul, Mohammed, Mao, or Joseph Smith? Their systems of indoctrination use fear, shame, and intimidation and probably hypnosis and other forms of mind control to set triggers that help people become their own enforcers of the doctrine that also keeps religious and political leaders in power.
