Religious buildingsReader comment on item: Churches in Saudi Arabia? Submitted by Claire (United States), Apr 2, 2008 at 21:22 Noise codes prevent many new religious buildings from ringing bells or having voices go out over a loudspeaker. This has nothing to do with limiting Islam, and it applies to new Christian churches, too. Why should others be subjected to your religion? Just be quiet about it, and you're welcome here. Just don't expect us to live under shari'a. We have the freedom to draw pictures of Jesus, Krishna, Mohammed, and anyone else, and the right to criticize governments and religions. And women have the same rights as men, and we like it that way. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. For complete regulations, see the "Guidelines for Reader Comments". |
