The tradition of marrying young girls was the norm those days like it was normal for the Greek to marry their mothers or sisters or daughter, things we do not accept today, but were normal those days. so when Mohammad married a young girl those days it was normal even with the consent of her daddy.

Her daddy was a gentleman between his fellow tribe and well respected.
