Submitted by Samer Sukhun (United Arab Emirates), Apr 30, 2008 at 19:08 But as I know, the prophet's followers were 1000s , thousands when the Mecca people started boycotting them, not selling them and food, not buying from them (Like what The jews arebdoing to the Gaza people today), then the prophet ordered his followers to go to Habasha (Etheopia today) and order others to Go to Yathrib (Medina), (This was on the 10th year after he started his preaching, when he went to Yathrib (Now Medina) secretly, he was received in parades and music and joy, most medina have already converted to Islam, except some Jewish tribes, He called the city (The Enlightened City - in Arabic Al-Medina Al-Munawwarah) there were good times and there were bad times, The khalife Omar Bin Khattab when he was khalifeh as history record, he wore one garment only, for long times if not all his life, washing it and wearing it. Yhat is why when I said sometimes he did not have even a bread and that he did nor leave anything to his wives, even Ali and his wife (Fatima - the daughter of the prophet) sometimes they did not have anything to eat except if someone offered them.
