Comments on Daniel Article - Jerusalem is a minor city to the MuslimsReader comment on item: Churches in Saudi Arabia? Submitted by Samer Sukhun (Canada), Apr 27, 2008 at 01:15 Sara - Here is a recount Islam connection to Jerusalem is as old as Islam. Since the heavenly voyage of Mohammad was through Jerusalem to Heavens when he was given the commandments including the prayer. God blessed this land (Jerusalem and area around (Palestine) and Mecca ever since He created Earth. The fact the Christian, Muslims and Jews believe that this land is sacred land to all of them is correct, they are right. And we believe them, because God made it a sacred land for the three religions. But the Jews never ruled the place for more than 70 years while the Muslims ruled the land for 1400 years. The Jews will continue to rule the land to complete another 70 years, that is 1948 +70 = 2018 (+) 6 years = up to the year 2024. (According to Jewish resources and interpretation of Mohammad Hadiths, they will rule 76 years) then it will be destroyed. Mohammad was commanded to pray towards Jerusalem, Mohammad was not happy because he wanted to turn towards Kaba'a, but he obeyed God's commands. It does not matter how many times the word Jerusalem appears in the Quran or in the Bible or the Torah, what matters that God blessed Jerusalem in the Quran even one time is enough. It is not of minor importance to the Muslims, otherwise Saladdin would not defend it, or Even the Ottomans would not make it an important city. Ever since the advent of Islam until last century, Muslims throughout the world made pilgrimage to Jerusalem as they did to Mecca. Prophet Mohammad said in a Hadith "Pilgrimage is only to three, Al-Haram Mosque (Mecca), my Mosque (Medina) and Bait al Maqdis (The Sacred house, Jerusalem), as Jerusalem was called by the Muslims (The Sacred house). If what Daniel says is true, you will not see Islamic monuments and shrines all over Jerusalem. It is enough to have the Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock in it. So it is definitely is an important city to the Muslims throughout the centuries. Quran never repudiated Jerusalem, The Quran which is the words of God, blessed Jerusalem and the towns around Jerusalem. (The is Palestine) Throughout the Centuries there were raids on the Muslim countries from many places, whether from Europe or from Central Asia, Muslims were able to defend Jerusalem from aggression and eventually defeat the aggressors In Conclusion, in spite of the long long article of Daniel, he cannot prove that Jerusalem was not of importance to the Muslims. On the contrary it was always an important place. Not only Jerusalem is importance to the Muslims, but all the land of Palestine, because it is sacred too. The claim of the Jews that their temple is below the Aqsa Mosque is unfounded claim, ever since they occupied Jerusalem in 1967 until today and every day they are digging to find something about the Temple, until today they found nothing. And they are still digging. The reason is to destroy a famous Islamic shrine; they are cleansing the town gradually from any trace of any Islamic existence.
