sTs,

I don't believe in prophets or deities. I don't believe the Bible, Koran, or Talmud are revealed. So all prophets are false as far as I'm concerned.

On the other hand, I think all people have the ability to tap into their "higher consciousness" or whatever one wishes to call the transcendent experience. Since some call this a deity or god/goddess/totem, then all people equally are "prophets" in the sense practitioners of the revealed religions use that term. Most people just aren't aware that everyone has that ability. Power mongers claim it is unique to them in order to shore up their personal power.

I don't think Moses or Mohammed had more access to a "god" than anyone else. I also don't think a "god" said anything, because it doesn't exist. These were people who had a kind of genius they were able to use to convince a lot of people, however. Religion is a tool used for social control that sets a certain group apart as more powerful--and some people crave power. Moses and Mohammed both craved power.

People are gullible and actually believe what powerful others tell them. It had survival value for the species. Mohammed, Paul, Moses, Mao, and other cultural engineers figured out ways to keep themselves in power. Clever, but not really prophets! (Or everyone is a prophet.)
