Sola Scriptura is more than semantics

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? - Continued

IF the Muslim god is God THEN Jesus Christ is not God and is found a liar. One or the other is telling a lie or both are lying but both cannot be true; the assertions are mutually exclusive.

But the Roman Catholic Pope says that the Muslim deity and the Judeo-Christian God are the same. The Pope's pronouncement flies in the face of the many statements of Jesus Christ that He is the Son of God and that He is God. The Popes assertion contradicts the clear Word of God, the Revelation of Holy Scripture.

The Pope is also in contradiction of the Koran which states God has no son and that Jesus Christ did not die on the cross and was not resurrected. Finally, the Pope's accommodation offends and mocks reason and logic. This critically important issue illustrates the insuperable gulf between Roman Catholics and historic orthodox Protestant Christians.

The Reformation put this very issue in sharp graphic relief. The Protestant Reformers, including but not limited, to Dr. Martin Luther and John Calvin of the 16th Century confessed that the Bible, The Revealed Word of God, is the only standard or Norm for Christian Faith and Practice. In defiance of this and other Reformation principles, the Roman Catholic Church convened the Counter-Reformationist Council of Trent. The Council of Trent anathematized all who would not take the Traditions and the pronouncements of the Pope and his Magisterium as equal to and indeed more authoritative than Holy Scripture.

This doctrine puts man's reason and will above God's Revealed Will and Word, the Bible. It is saying that God did not say what He meant and did not mean what He said, that says doesn't equal means. This is iniquitous. The same twisted serpentine semantics heard in the Garden of Eden and that brought spiritual death and darkness to mankind are heard to defend this Trentian teaching. "Now the serpent...said to the woman, "Hath God said...?" (Genesis 3:1). In other words, did God really say that? He meant something else entirely. He meant do the (forbidden) thing! Trent anathematized the doctrine that the Bible is the only Norm for Christian Faith and Practice.

Again, puting anything, anything at all above the final authority of the Revealed Word of God is idolatry, notwithstanding the Pope, Magisterium, the Council of Trent or my own reason. Bought with the blood of God Himself, I must yield to His Revealed Will in His Word, the Bible, on all matters. It is testing God and calling Him a liar to do otherwise. I love, in truth, my Roman Catholic Christian brethern and the Muslims who are enemies of the Gospel but i love God and the Holy Scripture far more.

Therefore, i confess publically that God and the Muslim deity are not only not the same in anyway but are antithetical one to the other.
