in response to reader comment: Proof that Jesus Prayed to Allah

My dear Hamilton rabina yu3alimak akthar wa akthar

Now, any one who knows a bit of Arabic can very much understand what Jesus was saying in Syro-Aramiac so let us go through it word by word:

1. Eloi (I have also seen it transliterated as: Eli Eli) The word God in Syriac is Alaha (gasp) and in Nestorian Syriac it is Allaha (gasp one more time) you can then Arabize it as: and you guessed it: Allah. So it seems that Muhammad borrowed the word Allah from Syro-Aramaic and not the other way around (see J.S. Trimingham's "Christianity Among the Arabs in pre-Islamic Times" and aslo see Payne Smith's Thesaures Syriacus, I col. 195-196 for the word Alaha as the word God in Syriac). But what is more absurd about your claim here my dear hamilton is that it does not prove that your Allah is the judeo-Christian God. This is like saying that Allah being a god must also be Ganesh the Hindu deity after all they are both Gods. If you do not get this one you would really be beyond help.

But notice that the word "My God" in Arabic is "Ilahi" and not Allah (al-Ilah means the God)

Your claim so far is bogus.

2. Lama means "when" in Arabic.

3. sabachthani is the clear Arabic word: Sabaqtani or left me behind or went ahead of me.

Or in Arabic it would be: Ilahi Ilahi lama sabaqtani? Or my God my God (notice that the word Allah means God and not my God which means: Ilahi) when you went ahead (and left me behind).

So any Arabic speaker would be able to underatand such sentence and do you know why my dear hamilton? I'm sure that your Urdu is very close to let us say Hindi, and the same is the case in Hebrew, Arabic and Syriac.

So you must pardon me but your little foray in Syriac/ Arabic so far is bogus. And your Logic is flawed.
