What did you say????

Sorry, I think your point was too mythological that it went over my head. Anyways, in no way I am saying that because Old Testament (according to the Christian Bible) violence, its ok for Islam to advocate violence.

The difference between Christianity and Islam is that Christianity began as a religion of spiritual cleansing and was not in any form attach to politics in the beginning whereas Islam is a political and religious institution and so it must deal with the ills of society on every level. This means that it has to deal with the ugly and dark elements of society. Punishing the thieve, prostitute, murder, treason and so on…so of course if the punishment is severe, non-Muslims see it as a horrendous act for a religion.

Terrorist act is not part of an Islamic understanding (and I do know all the accusations against Islam); nowhere in Islam is there a licensing for indiscriminate act such as suicide bombing, mass murder or terrorizing people.

Islam also deals with war and war crimes that might seem strange but are things that must be dealt with whereas Christians hide behind Democracy (secularism) and let the government's deals with Vietnam deaths, Cold wars and stealing other countries resources (Chiapas, Colombia, Middle east).

I highly contest your assertion of the origins of Islam, because I think you do not take in consideration that Islam is a religious and political institution and take in consideration the time Muhammad came with religion and by that you are judging him with 20th century understanding of the world.

Sorry, but English is my second language so it becomes a bit difficult for me to explain my thoughts. But I have read many accusations from Christians and Jewish sources against Islam—and I feel that Christians and conservatives rather fuel the fire against Islam instead of aligning with the majority of Muslims who are against the small evil elements within the Muslim community (al-Qaeda, Hamas, and so on) ...
