Christ is faultless

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? - Continued

Submitted by Jane West (United States), Sep 27, 2006 at 11:31

I'm a gnostic Christian.

No, I don't believe that Allah is the transcendant God. Maybe he's an ill-tempered Archon. If Allah is a God of sorts, then he's certainly a highly flawed one.

Frankly, I suspect that Muhammad made Allah up with the intent to serve his own purposes and subjugate a whole bunch of people and eventually all of humanity. I mean, Muhammad's favorite wife is accused of adultery, and all of a sudden, the Koran says that it takes 4 male witnesses to confirm and the cheating wife doesn't get stoned after all. Mighty convenient if you ask me. Or how about Allah saying that his prophet Muhammad gets a lion's share of the booty after a war? Again, that's a pretty self-serving revelation.

There's a world of difference between the ... prophet ... Muhammad ... and Jesus Christ. ...

Pax.
