our dear zzazz wrote this little gem

>Oliver, First off, you should read in my reply to Dhimmi about the tri-lingual Christian inscription written in Greek, Syriac, and Nabatean Arabic from "Zabad" (or "Zebed"),

No it is Zabad and so pre-islam Christian Arabs use the words al-Ilah and Allah? So are you surprised?

>that was written in prior to the advent of Islam.

Yes it is dated: 512 CE

> It clearly mentions "al-ilah",

The second word is indeed al-ilah or the God or the deity but what is really your point?

> which as has repeatedly been stated

By whom? by you? you that do not know any Arabic?

> here numerous times is elided to form"Allah".

No and for the Nth time the word Allah means God and not the God and if it is indeed a contraction then why do we still use the word al-Ilah and why do we still write the word al-Rabb as: al-rabb and not A-Rabb which is the vocailzation (oh darn it a typo) of the word al-Rabb? where the lam shamsiya is not vocalized! And why do compound Arabic names the likes of WhbAllah means the gift of God and not the gift of the God? No you are wrong!

And how could you jump from the word al-ilah to the word Allah based on one single source our dear linguist?

>\"Allah is simply the elision of the definite article "al" with the word "ilah".

No the word Allah means God and not the God . I suggest that you stick to Urdu
